Pieces

The following quote is the focus for today’s blog post. Something about it feels like a gentle poem or a piece of advice from an insightful friend. I saw the quote for the first time just the other day, but apparently it was penned six years ago. It’s incredible to think that these words have been mysteriously making their way to me all this time.

.

Each time I read it, different parts of it stand out. And does anyone else see it as being in the shape of a heart?

Our DNA is obviously (and biologically) a big piece of us, but we have no control over the genes we inherit. And true, we might not have much control over the various experiences of life, either. Yet everything comes together, piece by piece, to make us who we are: unique masterpieces.

I’d like to think that some of the best pieces of my personality are my courage, optimism, wit, friendliness, and sense of humor. My worst pieces are my impatience, overthinking, jealousy, procrastination, and I am not always a good listener.

.

Sometimes, I feel like a luminous piece of the grand universe. Other times, I feel like a bunch of broken pieces.

As always, thanks for stopping by. ❤

  1. I love this!!! Yes, I noticed it looked heart shaped, too! I am a firm believer that all of our ups and downs in our life are, and were needed, to grow into the person we are. Thank you for yet again making me enjoy all the things that piece me together!
