Okay, so technically this Flashback Friday only goes back a couple of weeks ago, when my friend and I went to Pismo for the day.
What started off being planned months ago as a “girls’ weekend trip” for five of us friends, turned into a Saturday day-trip with just two of us. Alas, that’s how life goes for us working moms sometimes. Anyhow, Bonnie and I had a fun day even though the weather was cloudy and there was some light drizzle here and there. At least it wasn’t windy and pouring rain.
We enjoyed a nice outdoor lunch at a restaurant that was close to the beach, hiked around some dunes, and did a little people-watching while we enjoyed some yummy frozen yogurt. Oh, and we found a swing-set right on the beach! Fun times! So although our original plans fell through, it was still a really good day and just what we needed.

The weather turned out to be a blessing in disguise anyway since it kept the crowds away. Pismo is usually pretty crowded on weekends, but we practically had the whole beach to ourselves! :).

This is such a great idea- a yearly girls trip. I personally love the beach when it’s overcast and a bit chilly. Looks like you had a wonderful time, even though the group was smaller. 🙂
