Rainy Day

This is the view outside my classroom right now. It’s a rainy morning, the leaves are stunning, and the sky is a soft, misty, gray. Autumn speaks to my soul.

Is not this a true autumn day? Just the still melancholy that I love—that makes life and nature harmonize. -George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans)

The photo doesn’t quite do it justice. With the much-needed rain and brightly colored leaves, everything looks so beautiful and peaceful out there. Meanwhile, inside my classroom, things are not quite so beautiful and peaceful due to the fact that the students must stay indoors. They’re understandably restless. I don’t blame them.

I haven’t been able to come up with much else to write about these days, but something about this scene and situation makes me feel like sharing with all of you. How would you describe the outside compared to the inside of where you are right now?

If you liked this post, then check out one of my others about this time of year, titled Autumn Love. As always, thanks for stopping by. ❤️

  1. I do remember how much I dreaded rainy days when I was a Teachers Aide. haha Kids need to go outside to burn off the energy. 🙂 That is a very nice view though. I love this time of year with the leaves showing off their gorgeous fire!! We had sunshine here.
