The Halfway Point

Yesterday was the halfway point for the 10 Books of Summer Challenge that I started last month. (Click this link to my post if you missed it.) So here’s an update on my progress.

So far, I’ve finished more than I had expected to at this point. I’ve already got a book in mind that I would not recommend. Trying to figure out just one to recommend has not been so easy, because so many of them are really good. For now, here are a few of my thoughts:

  • Love Lettering by Kate Clayborn (finished June 11) -This book has a clever story, and I saw some of myself in the main character.
  • I Work At a Public Library:Β A Collection of Crazy Stories from the Stacks by Gina Sheridan (finished June 14)
  • The Bookshop by Penelope Fitzgerald (finished June 16) -This is the one that I would not recommend, unless you like frustrating, disheartening, unhappy endings to the books that you read.
  • This Could Change Everything by Jill Mansell (finished June 21)
  • All There Is: Love Stories from StoryCorps by David Isay (finished June 27) -One of the stories is about a husband and wife talking on the phone together for the last time on 9/11. It had me sobbing.
  • I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella (finished July 8) -This book is written by my favorite author. The story sometimes drags on, unfortunately.

Reading Adventure quote

Six books down, only four more to read until September 1st. Should be a piece of cake. How are all of you doing with your reading challenges?

As always, thanks for stopping by. ❀
